I love all kinds of books and just love getting lost in a whole different world

What if you could have anything.... but....

My Wishful Thinking - Shel Delisle

I liked this book for all the lessons about how if you had the power to wish for anything, would you? Would you feel happy taking revenge on people?

It shows two young girls, one who has really bad esteem and another who probably keeps her around so she feels like the superior of the two. To be honest I was not a fan of Emily. It shows the differences in the two girls and when you ask what is really important having a great SAT score won't help you make good choices.

The only thing that I would have personally wanted more in this book was more romance between Logan and Eugene, it was very subtle. Otherwise a great read, I read it all in a few hours, just wanted to know what next, after every chapter.

Thank you for the book, I enjoyed it.

Something Wiccan - James Drummond

Carrying on where things left off, you are transported into a world where monsters beyond werewolves exist and Toby has been chosen to help fight against these monsters.

I think you can see Toby's sheer determination in this book to want to help others, a void he is trying desperately to fill even if he comes close to his own death. I enjoyed reading the book and enjoyed the quick introduction of new characters, I say quick because the story is non-stop action, towards the end I found it very hard to put down I just wanted to know what happened next, especially as in the last book main characters were killed off so did not know what to expect.

The messages about power are there again which I must admit I like to see deeper messages lurking in the shadows!

Overall a great follow up of the first book, and just as good. Thank you for the great read.

(You could read this as a stand alone from the first book, although there are small details that may make more sense.)

My first experience of an audiobook

Crossing In Time - D. L. Orton, Micah McDonald

Thank you to booklikes as I won this part of one of their giveaways. This was also my first exoperience of an audiobook, so I will add I think this added time, I think I would have read it much faster.

This book was a great read a story about lost love and strength. I found myself more and more gripped as I read on. This book looks at different universes and the butterfly effect and how single moments can change the world.

It was a fascinating read, leaving me with so many unanswered questions, I now NEED the next book, I enjoyed the journey with both Diago and Isabelle. I was really happy that the book gave both perspectives, as you felt like you understood both characters.

There were parts in the story where you can see Isabelle giving up and I found myself willing her on and hoping with her that Diago was not dead.

Great book, I look forward to the next.

Great book, could not put it down.

Dead Secret - Ava McCarthy

OK, I read this book in less than 24 hours, I could not put this down. It was such a gripping book with twists and turns. A story about grief, love, denial and the feeling of hopelessness. A thriller indeed, a twist and turn with each chapter leaving me wanting more. I found myself instantly sympathising with Jodie and hated her good for nothing husband. The unraveling of all the lies kept me stuck on this book, turning page after page before I realised the time!

Absolutely amazing book and I strongly recommend reading this especially if you enjoy a good thriller, because this is a great one.

Enjoyable read leaving you wanting more

The One You Feed - James Drummond

A great book, which I really enjoyed reading. It kept me on the edge of my seat in quite a few chapters. There were parts where I did not want things to happen the way they happened, giving the book a kind of reality to it. I felt that it had a strong lesson about power and the changes that occur in people in reality upon the acquisition of power and sometimes the kind of ending you get from the continued need to attain more.

I also like the title of the book because it highlights a certain part for me which actually made it stick out more than if it was not the title. Message received.

Overall I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the next one.

Lifewalla - Nina Joshi Ramsey

** spoiler alert ** A sensational book about the desperation and loneliness of grief. This book demonstrates the pain of a young woman whose family became a victim to a gas leak at a factory in Jantapur, the moments that occurred after that pulled at my own heart strings and with each page I read, I felt a deep saddening at the fact that what I was reading was based on true events.

Nina Ramsey has also shown the unfortunate truth that widows suffer in India due to no fault of their own. However, this story shows that despite her misfortune her search for reunion with the souls of her family this lady was on a journey of discovery and determination.

A thrilling read and I enjoyed the journey that Dilkush makes and how although she is left in a very unfortunate situation all her actions and misconceptions lead her to some place of meaning, leading me to confirm my belief that everything happens for a reason.

Ultimately following the reading of this book, I myself was left feeling quite angry at how we treat our fellow human beings and how the cost of a life long injury seems to outweigh death due to the cost of compensation! A meer £200 was given to pay for lifelong suffering. Is this the world we live in?
